1. Introduction

These terms and conditions govern your use of Saddleworth.biz ("the site"), including the business directory, events guide, newsletter, and any account or listing features. By using the site or creating an account, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

Saddleworth.biz is operated as a community resource for visitors to and residents of the Saddleworth area of Greater Manchester. It is not a commercial service and is not operated for profit.

2. Listing Eligibility

To be listed in the Saddleworth.biz directory, a business must:

• Have a physical location within the Saddleworth area (including Uppermill, Greenfield, Delph, Dobcross, Diggle, Denshaw, Springhead, Lees, and surrounding villages and hamlets).
• Be a legitimate, trading business or organisation.
• Provide accurate and complete information.

We do not accept listings for businesses located outside the Saddleworth area. Online-only businesses with no physical Saddleworth presence are also not eligible.

3. Listing Approval & Moderation

All listings are reviewed by the Saddleworth.biz admin team before they are published. Submission of a listing does not guarantee publication. We reserve the right to reject or remove any listing at our discretion, including where:

• The business does not meet the eligibility criteria above.
• The information provided is inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading.
• The content is offensive, inappropriate, or in breach of these terms.
• The business has ceased trading.

If your listing is rejected, you will be notified by email with the reason. You may resubmit once the issue has been resolved. We also reserve the right to edit listings for clarity, formatting, or compliance without prior notice.

4. Free & Paid Services

Listings on Saddleworth.biz are offered free of charge as a community service. The site is provided as a goodwill resource with no commercial obligation, no guaranteed uptime, and no service level agreement. We do not guarantee listing visibility, search ranking, or the continued availability of the free listing service.

Advertisers and sponsors who pay for prominent placement or featured advertising enter a separate commercial arrangement. Those terms are agreed individually and do not modify these general terms of use. Paid placement does not affect editorial decisions about listing approval or removal.

We reserve the right to introduce, modify, or withdraw paid tiers at any time without affecting free listings already published.

5. User Accounts

When you create an account, you agree to:

• Provide accurate registration details, including a valid email address and your genuine business name.
• Keep your login credentials confidential and not share them with others.
• Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
• Take responsibility for all activity carried out under your account.

Each account should represent a single business. Creating multiple accounts for the same business, or creating accounts on behalf of businesses you do not represent, is not permitted.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms, without prior notice.

6. Content Standards

All content you submit — including listing descriptions, event details, images, and contact information — must:

• Be accurate, truthful, and not misleading.
• Relate to your business or event as it genuinely operates.
• Not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights.
• Not contain offensive, discriminatory, defamatory, or unlawful material.
• Not include spam, unsolicited advertising for other businesses, or irrelevant content.
• Not impersonate any person, business, or organisation.

By submitting content, you grant Saddleworth.biz a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display, reproduce, and distribute that content on the site for the purpose of operating the directory. This licence continues until the content is removed from the site.

7. Images & Intellectual Property

By uploading images to Saddleworth.biz, you confirm that you own the copyright in those images or hold a licence that permits you to use them commercially. Do not upload images taken from the internet, Google Maps, third-party stock libraries (unless you have a valid licence), or images that depict people without their consent.

We will remove images that appear to infringe third-party rights, without prior notice. Repeated or deliberate infringement may result in account suspension.

The Saddleworth.biz name, logo, and site design are our property and may not be reproduced or used without permission. Content scraped or copied from this site for commercial purposes is prohibited.

8. Listing Duration & Renewal

Approved listings are published for a set period. You will be notified by email before your listing expires so that you can renew it. Expired listings are removed from public view automatically.

It is your responsibility to keep your listing information up to date. If your business details change — address, phone number, opening hours, or any other information — please update your listing promptly via your dashboard. We are not liable for visitors who act on out-of-date information.

If your business closes, please delete your listing or contact us to have it removed.

9. Events

Registered business users may submit events to the Saddleworth.biz events guide. Events are subject to the same content standards, approval process, and moderation rights as business listings.

The accuracy of event information — including dates, times, venues, and ticket details — is the sole responsibility of the submitting business. We do not independently verify event details and make no guarantee that events will take place as listed.

We are not responsible for any loss or inconvenience suffered as a result of attending or attempting to attend an event listed on the site, including where an event is cancelled, postponed, or inaccurately described.

10. Newsletter

Saddleworth.biz offers an optional email newsletter featuring local news, events, and business updates. Subscription is entirely voluntary and requires your explicit confirmation via a verification email.

You can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link included in every newsletter email, or by contacting us via the contact form. We will remove your email address promptly on request.

We do not share, sell, or pass subscriber email addresses to third parties. Newsletter addresses are used solely to send the newsletter.

11. Prohibited Conduct

When using this site you must not:

• Use automated scripts, bots, scrapers, or crawlers to extract content from the site.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any account, system, or data.

We do not review or endorse the content of any linked external site and are not responsible for its availability, accuracy, or content.

Google Reviews links are provided at the business's request. We do not verify the authenticity or completeness of any reviews shown on third-party platforms.

13. Limitation of Liability

Saddleworth.biz acts as a directory and community resource. It does not endorse, recommend, or guarantee any business, event, or service listed on the site.

The site is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranty of any kind, express or implied. We make no warranty that:

• The site will be continuously available or free from errors.
• Any listing is accurate, complete, or current at any given time.
• Any listed business is open, trading, or as described.
• Any listed event will occur as advertised.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all liability for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential loss or damage arising from:
